Saule Research Institute (SRI) became the part of POWERSKIN PLUS project, granted by H2020 Programme with 100% financing. The project is led by Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) – Associacao Para a Inovacao e Desenvolvimento em Ciencia e Tecnologia (Portugal), with the support of other prominent partners such as Fraunhofer Institute, Friedrich Schiller Universität Jena, Brunel University London, Oxford Brookes University.

The aim of the project is to develop and scale-up eco-innovative, cost-effective and smart material solutions to renovate existing facade systems of both double skin and advanced integrated curtain walls.

Tasks dedicated especially for SRI include the development of coatings on transparent glass facade elements to provide them with enhanced functionalities. In terms of the project physical and chemical vapor deposition methods will be utilized to improve the characteristics of the glass structures, as well as depositing thin layers that can provide self-cleaning and antireflective properties to the surfaces.

The total value of the project is 5,91M €, and it will last 48 months, starting from coming October.

At this moment we are in the process of Grant Agreement signing.
